Basic Components of computer
Did you know? There are 6 basic components without it we cannot use computer. These are very essential components for the proper use of computer.
In this tutorial, We will discuss the basic components of computer. Basic components are the building blocks of computer. Without it we cannot use computer for any purpose. There are six basic components of computer which are: –
- Input Device
- Output Device
- CPU
- Motherboard
- Software
- Memory/Storage Device

Let’s Discuss one by one
1.) Input Device: – Input device is a hardware component that is used to give data to the computer. It takes data from user and send into computer. It helps us to communicate with computers. Without it we will not be able to give commands or data to the computer and if we do not give data or commands to the computer then the computer will not be able to perform any work.
Ex. : – Keyboard, Mouse, Microphone, light pen etc.
2.) Output Device: – Output device is a hardware device that is used to show data or information. Output device shows data or information in the form of hard or soft copy. Hard copy are that can be touched and soft copy are those that cannot be touched.
Ex. : – Monitor, Printer, Plotter, Speaker etc.
3.) CPU: – It stands for central processing unit. It is very important for any computer. It is a device which process the data and convert into information. It performs various task such as performing calculation, executing instruction, and managing data flow of the computer.
4.) Motherboard: – It connects all devices to each other. It contains CPU, RAM, ROM etc. through motherboard, all devices are connected and can communicacte with each other.
5.) Software: – It is a set of programs or instructions which tells computer hardware that “what to do?” and “When to do?”. User cannot interact directly with hardware. Software helps users to interact with hardware.
6.) Memory/Storage device: – It is a hardware device that stores data. It can stores data permanently or temporarly. There are two types of memory. One is primary memory that stores currently running data and another is secondary that can store huge amount of data permanently.
